What is the difference between a duct fan and a central air conditioner?
Which one is suitable for home use?
Nowadays, many people, in order to pursue beauty when decorating, will consider duct units or central air conditioners when choosing air conditioners. This way, they will not be exposed to the outside like hanging units or cabinet units, saving space and being more atmospheric.
However, when choosing an air conditioner, many people are confused about whether a duct fan or a central air conditioner is better, because these two common air conditioning systems seem to be the same in many aspects, but they have different characteristics and the prices are quite different.
What is the difference between a duct fan and a central air conditioner? Which one is suitable for home use? Listen to the truth told by the air conditioner master.
The difference between duct machines and central air conditioners:
1. The configuration is different. Duct machines are generally configured in a one-to-one configuration, that is, one outdoor unit corresponds to one indoor unit, and as many indoor units are installed as many outdoor units need to be installed. The central air conditioner is a one-to-many system, that is, one outdoor unit can be connected to multiple indoor units and only requires one outdoor installation location, which can save space and cost. But if the central air conditioner fails, the air conditioner cannot be used.
2. The noise is different. The noise of the air duct machine mainly comes from the fan and air outlet of the internal unit. If the installation is unreasonable or the air outlet is too small, it will cause loud noise. The noise of central air conditioners mainly comes from the compressor and condenser fan of the outdoor unit. If the outdoor unit is far away from the living area or sound insulation measures are adopted, the noise can be reduced.
3. Energy consumption is different. Duct fans basically use fixed-frequency technology, that is, the internal and external machines operate at constant power and speed and cannot be adjusted according to changes in indoor temperature. Central air conditioners generally use variable frequency technology, which means that the indoor and outdoor units can automatically adjust power and speed according to indoor temperature changes to achieve constant temperature comfort and energy saving.
4. The comfort level is different. The air duct machine works as an all-air system, that is, it transports hot and cold gases to each room through the air supply vents, and recovers part of the gas to the indoor unit for reprocessing through the return air vents. This will cause the cooling speed to be relatively slow and easily cause a large temperature difference between rooms. Central air conditioning works as a water-gas mixing system, that is, it transports cold and heat to each room through water circulation, and performs heat exchange and ventilation through indoor terminal equipment (such as floor heating, HVAC, fresh air, etc.). This will result in a fast cooling and heating effect and can keep the temperature difference between rooms small.
Is it better to install a duct fan or a central air conditioner?
To sum up, when choosing between a duct fan or a central air conditioner, you need to consider the following factors:
- Installation conditions. If you have enough outdoor installation locations and are willing to bear higher installation costs and maintenance fees, you can choose central air conditioning; if you do not have enough outdoor installation locations and want to save installation costs and maintenance fees, you can choose wind turbines. Pipe machine.
- Energy saving needs. If you pay more attention to energy conservation and environmental protection and are willing to invest in more efficient equipment, you can choose central air conditioning; if you do not have particularly high requirements for energy conservation and environmental protection and want to invest in more economical equipment, you can choose duct machines.
- Comfort needs. If you pay more attention to comfort and want to enjoy the advantages of constant temperature and humidity, freshness and smoothness, dust-free and sterile, silent and comfortable, you can choose central air conditioning.
